Having served on numerous committees and boards in his undergraduate years at Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO), Mervin M. Crump, Jr., is no stranger to communicating and coordinating with groups of people with disparate backgrounds.  Upon attending college Mervin served in many positions in SUNO’s SGA, holding the position of Class Senator multiple times, Second Vice-President and eventually, SGA President.  From 1994-1996 Mervin worked with the Homework Assistance cable access show and Orleans Parish School Board where he held a number of positions ranging from cameramen to show director.  Years later he returned to the Orleans Parish School System as an educator, teaching English and Television Production.

Mervin’s service experience as a board member and liaison for various groups, committees and organizations, along with his 15 plus years of experience as an audio/visual technician, camera operator and technical director has given him the cross-pollinated ability to facilitate the production and creation of large, multifaceted projects and endeavors.  Additionally, his 10 plus years in education and politics (academic and city-related) provide a balanced complement to his ability to lead.
